Press Release

IQ PROGRAM CONTINUES TO STRENGTHEN

FOR RELEASE  December, 2003

Contact: Melissa Maranda, IQ Program Coordinator

The IQ Certification Program continues to be successful in the United States, Canada and Trinidad. Ninety member companies have recertified their commitment to adhering to the highest false alarm standards during 2003-2004. The newest member of the IQ Certification Program includes Rocky Top Technologies, Inc., Knoxville, Tenn.

To become IQ Certified, an electronic security and life safety systems company must adhere to the IQ Certification Policies and Guidelines for each and every future monitored installation. The requirements of the program include company guidelines, user training guidelines, employee training guidelines, system design guidelines, equipment guidelines, installation guidelines and monitoring guidelines. Each of the policies and guidelines are specifically tailored to assure maximum quality and false alarm resistance in every new monitored system installed.

In the upcoming year the IQ Certification Board will be implementing a new audit procedure. This procedure is being implemented to strengthen the program and really make the IQ symbol a badge of distinction.

Chairwoman, Lisa Prosser said, "The IQ Board of Directors is very committed to all possible due diligence procedures so the IQ Certification program is known to be a program of the highest integrity. One of our members recently stated that they take their position of an IQ Certified company very seriously, just like they take their role in life-safety very seriously. I'm sure it's obvious to the law enforcement community that a company can NOT take their role in life safety seriously if that same company contributes to the false dispatch problem. The IQ Certification program is a serious program for the electronic security and life safety industry; we just need more companies to get serious."

Along with the IQ audit process, the Board has created a new Web site that will be available in January 2004. Once this Web site goes live it will allow prospective members to apply online, get updates about new services being offered to IQ members. There will be information available for law enforcement and also members of the IQ program. To access this information you can go to www.iqcertification.org.

If you are interested in becoming IQ Certified please contact Melissa Maranda, IQ Coordinator at info@iqcertification.org.
